Hi, my name is James Howlett (MCIOB), Director of Oak Building Consultancy.  Firstly, thank you for visiting our website.  Please let me take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about my background and what we do at OBC.

I have been in the construction industry for some 30 years, following in the footsteps of family members. I started out as an Apprentice Carpenter in the residential and commercial sector.  Once fully qualified and as I obtained more experience, I slowly progressed through company ranks to become a team leader. There I was responsible for a small team of trades and managed my own delegated projects.

Some time after, I was head hunted by a large multi-national construction company, building new homes in vast quantities all over the country. It was here, that once again I was promoted to a Site Manager, where I was ultimately responsible for a larger team of trades for larger projects. Eventually, this lead to a further industry relocation where I was given the opportunity to further my education with an end plan to qualify as an Project Manager.

After the relevant studying and qualification period I was successfully appointed as a Project Manager with direct responsibility for logistics, quality and budget (please see link here where I am proud to state of my award winning achievements whilst a Project Manager).

I eventually formed Oak Building Consultancy (OBC). It was always a desire to provide a house builder/refurbishment service where the simple objective of “quality work on time and on budget” was on top of the agenda.  At Oak Building Consultancy, our clients benefit from my project management skills, ensuring quality and reliability with a professional communication channel throughout their build.

We bring a richness of property experience and building expertise. Not only do we fully manage our own appointed contracts but are available to consult and advise clients on future property investments and building logistics.

We have also become an increasingly popular choice in undertaking make good projects, where clients have unfortunately been dissatisfied with previous contractor works or where relationships have for whatever reasons soured. We are happy to evaluate the project, provide a remedy and carry out the works to satisfy the clients expectations.
